Short-term rentals vital to Halifax, Nova Scotia tourism boom

Last summer, there were days where Halifax’s already expensive hotels were completely booked. Bed and breakfasts were full, too, as were the university residences which double as accommodations in the summer. While this sounds like a dream scenario for the tourism industry, the lack of accommodation forced many potential visitors to look elsewhere, costing Halifax hundreds of thousands of much-needed tourism dollars.
